I want to thank everyone for their love and support by sending flowers in the past few days. Elaine never cared to be at the center of attention, and being the selfless person as she was, she would have preferred your efforts to be put forth to a greater cause rather than being spent towards her. By channeling your efforts to the memorial tribute instead, we can collectively allocate a portion of the funds to a charity that Elaine would have wanted to support.
Everyone knows how much she loved and cared for her puppies Loki and Thor. Her love for them made her love for all dogs to grow exponentially. We couldn't walk or drive by a dog without Elaine smiling or just saying the word "dog" so that I would notice. I know with all my heart that she would want to help out a charity or non profit whose main focus was helping animals in need. I haven't had the time to research what organization this would be, however, I am thinking something like the SPCA. These funds will be donated from the friends and family of Elaine and I know that her heart will smile knowing we are doing this.

Thank you everyone for your phone calls, messages, thoughts and prayers. Your love and support is helping me to stay strong. It is more difficult then I could have ever imagined and I will continue to need your shoulders to lean on. There will be a Funeral Service at 1pm on Friday, July 15th at the Cypress Lawn Funeral Home, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, CA for family and close friends. There will also be a Memorial Service on Sat, July 16th at 2pm at the Garden of Old Roses in the Berkeley Botanical Gardens that is open to everyone who wishes to come together and remember what an inspiration Elaine was to us. I love her so much and I love you all for loving her.
We are so sorry about the loss of Elaine; we can't imagine how difficult it must be for you and your families. I (Sarah) knew she was your soulmate as soon as I met her back in 2010. Sending you lots of love from Seattle.
Elaine, the world has lost a truly beautiful person. You were one of my first friends in college, and I cherish the memories of our fun times together. Thank you for the lessons you have taught us all with your kind personality and passion for life. I know you are making people smile in heaven. You will be forever loved and missed.
